Lee Roy Selmon has a background that is a combination of family scholarships football with volunteering for the community. The first time Selmon was born with Lucious Semon and his wife Jessie, on a farm near Eufala located in Oklahoma as the youngest of their nine children. He was also one of three siblings that represented Oklahoma on the field of football. The three brothers all made All-America. Lucious Jr. Dewey, Lee Roy, and Lucious Jr. Dewey started the 1973 season. Lee Roy won the Outland and Lombardi Awards as the nation's best lineman. In the three years that Roy was a starter, Oklahoma won two National Championships. In 1975, he received his third scholarship, and was named a National Football Foundation scholar-athlete. Selmon earned his diploma in education. Fourth-year service in the university Lee Roy devoted ten hours per week to volunteer projects. After graduation, he landed in Tampa playing nine years for the Buccaneers played all-pro three times and started a business career. By 1988, he became an Account Representative at Tampa's First Florida Bank.
