Amy Smart is an American former actress and model. Born in California USA, Amy Smart started her modeling career in California. She began her acting career at the age of 16 in her debut in the TV film Her Costly Affair. After a very difficult struggle to get a part, she was offered a role as "Starship Troopers" her role in Starship Troopers. The transition was difficult for Amy since she needed transition from modelling to the acting profession. Models aren't considered great actors, so they usually play smaller, less important roles. Yet, somehow Amy did not give up and transitioned to more prestigious roles. It all started with the show The 70s and the film Varsity Blues. The romantic comedy Just Friends, which also featured Ryan Reynolds, saw her take on some more notable parts. Amy found her recognition after more than 10 years of struggling. She then went on to work in several of the most famous movies, including the Crank series with Jason Statham as well as Shameless, where she played an enduring character.
